Veste-kimono haori - Forêt de Cèdres

Veste-kimono haori - Forêt de Cèdres

This haori jacket is composed of fabrics dyed using the stitched-resist technique, nui shibori. The resist, applied either on the right or wrong side of the same panel and left stitched or unstitched after dyeing, produces different patterns. The same brown dye yielded two distinct shades depending on the base silk used, which came from the north of India and was less or more creased depending on the piece. This is what is visible in the garment's assembly.
