As an Italian glove maker, Jean Strazzeri has perpetuated six centuries of Grenoble tradition since the age of fourteen, when Grenoble was the former global capital of luxury gloves. Today, as a master glove maker and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Jean Strazzeri carries out all the stages of glove making, from sorting kidskin hides to cutting the twenty-two leather pieces to be assembled, from color matching to finishing. As the president of the French Federation of Glovemaking, Jean Strazzeri is committed to the perpetuation and transmission of his craft.
"I wanted people to remember this Grenoble heritage and for the craft not to disappear."
The Lesdiguières-Barnier glove maker obtained the "Living Heritage Company" label in 2008. Elected president of the French Federation of Glovemaking in 2008, it brings together centers in Grenoble (Isère), Millau (Aveyron), and Saint-Junien (Haute-Vienne). He was re-elected for a fourth term in 2017. His expertise is recognized not only in the Grenoble market, a major hub of French glovemaking for kidskin gloves, but also on the international stage. In Paris, specialized stores regularly place orders with him. He works for film and theater as well. Jean Strazzeri promotes French glove making in various international trade shows (agriculture show, leather goods, Première Classe Paris, Japan, England, Russia, etc.).
