The Institut Technologique Européen des Métiers de la Musique is a training center, research and innovation center, documentation and technical center, dedicated to the art of instrument making - guitars, pianos, wind instruments, accordions - sound and show management, and the trade in musical products. Born of a decision by the European Parliament and inaugurated in 1994, ITEMM is today the only structure of its kind in the world offering such a comprehensive range of training courses - initial and continuing training for professionals. A veritable resource center for the technical professions in the music industry, ITEMM promotes the development of the sector by helping companies integrate innovative solutions to develop their products and services. Students can also draw on the center's expertise for their final-year projects.

ITEMM's Research & Innovation department acts as a shared design office with industry, providing a development space equipped with measurement, simulation and analysis resources for instruments and materials. Its services focus on 3 strategic areas: - Support for the ecological transition - Developing and transferring methods for technological transition - Development of cultural projects, from heritage conservation to live performance.
