Emmanuelle Dupont's approach aims to go beyond traditional embroidery, always in favor of a unique discourse and a particular standpoint. She focuses her textile research on sensitive, visual, and tactile experimentation, using needle embroidery stitches and developing contemporary techniques.
"My favorite themes are fantasy, mimicry and the hybridization of genres, where the plant and animal kingdoms intermingle and merge."
The particularity of craftsmanship lies in the complexity of combining know-how, aesthetics and functionality in the service of an idea: positioning oneself halfway between craft, art and design. Emmanuelle Dupont has developed a unique way of working with embroidery. The main constraint of her profession is without doubt the time allowed for creation. Slowness is inherent to needlework, but also to the whole creative phase, during which she lets the idea mature (reflection, research, technical trials and realization).
