Portrait

Janine Jacquot-Perrin, graduated in mural art from Nancy's Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in 1969, set up her glass studio in Laxou in 1987. She creates monumental works and works in the fields of art, architecture and interiors. Janine Jacquot-Perrin runs fusing courses and regularly works with international trainees as part of the Master Verre program at the Nancy School of Architecture and the Centre Européen de Recherches et de Formation aux Arts Verriers, in Vannes-le-Châtel.

"My starting point is water: droplets, ice, snow, glass material inspire me for these representations with a feeling of fragility. Hardness/fragility, transparency/translucency, chance/control, smooth texture/rough texture, cutting/roundness, among all these paradoxical qualities, I chose to make them dialogue: transparency, wall, architecture."

Particularly interested in light, shadow, reflection, refraction, recursion and caustic effects, Janine Jacquot-Perrin regularly travels for study trips to Africa, Asia, the United States and Lebanon.
