For each project, Nicolas Lelièvre attempts to problematize a context and draw out a plastic proposition. The results take very different forms from one project to the next, and may involve photography, video, writing or the construction of objects.
"It's better not to know too much about what you're going to do or how. What guides me in my work is the search, for each project, for the most relevant response and tools given a particular context. Whether they're familiar or foreign to me, they're always to be found along the way."
For several years now, Nicolas Lelièvre has been working on site-specific projects that are directly linked to the uses and perceptions of the places he invests.
