Portrait
A textile designer trained at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Aurélia Leblanc masters a variety of craft skills. She began specializing in artisan weaving in 2016, when she opened her own workshop. Aurélia Leblanc's business is based on the creation of exceptional hand-weavings for decoration, Art and Haute Couture. Convinced that the artisanal scale is the ideal terrain for innovation, she is constantly experimenting with the marriage of fibers and know-how. In each of her textile creations, the fibers she uses are traceable in terms of manufacturing. It is with this societal and ethical commitment that Aurelia weaves ecological and technical fibers.
"The artisanal scale is an ideal breeding ground for innovation."
Aurélia Leblanc's artisanal weaving workshop was born of a desire to highlight rare and exceptional materials with partner suppliers (metal threads, aloe-vera, banana...), most of which are not used in industry, and to combine them with more technical threads (metal, ceramic, glass...). Aurélia Leblanc's workshop also creates encounters between techniques (embroidery in weaving, pleating, surprise effects between sight and touch...) that create surprising hands and falls. The story behind each development is exclusive and unique.
